Eating Guide: The Start

Happy Sunday everyone! Regardless of where you stand in your path to a healthy lifestyle, it is important to know that every moment is a fresh beginning. Another important thing to know is that 80% of how you look and feel is down to the food you eat! Only 20% is exercise! Nutrition is the biggest part in achieving the results you want.

A healthy eating plan is not only beneficial if you are trying to lose weight, it is important to have a healthy eating plan in order to lower your risk of heart disease and other health conditions.

Just because eating well is a huge part in achieving your goals does not mean that it will leave you unsatisfied and cannot be tasty! Every Sunday I am going to guide you through examples of healthy nutritious meals with flavorful recipes to get you through your days. This nutrition plan will consist of easy meals that will help you to tone up, increase your energy, improve your skin and help you to feel more confident!

Breakfast: Berry English Muffin

Ingredients-
·      1 tbsp natural creamy peanut butter or nut butter
·      1 Ezekiel 4:9 whole-grain English muffin
·      1 tbsp dried chia seeds
·      ½ tsp ground cinnamon
·      ¼ cup sliced strawberries or fruit of choice
Directions-
·      Spread nut butter on sliced English muffin and top with chia seeds, cinnamon and fruit.

Breakfast: Chia Seed Pudding

Ingredients-
·      1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
·      1 cup of plan low-fat Greek yogurt
·      2 tbsp pure maple syrup
·      1 tsp pure vanilla extract
·      ¼ cup of chia seeds
·      ½ cup of chopped strawberries (or berry of choice)
·      ¼ cup of sliced almonds, toasted
Directions-
·      In medium bowl, whisk almond milk, yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla until blended. Whisk in chia seeds and let stand for 30 minutes. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

·      The next day, toss in the berries and almonds and serve.
